X International Theatre Forum “TEART” will take place in Minsk from 2 to 24 October 2020. When the senses are sharpened, art and history are being created right now, the theatre can reflect it. Therefore, we made a decision that X anniversary “TEART” should take place.
The programme “Belarus Open” will traditionally be presented at the following venues: Republican theatre of Belarusian drama, Belarusian State Youth Theatre, Belarusian Republican Young Spectators’ Theatre, HIDE, Belarusian State Puppet Theatre, Cultural hub “OK16”.
The international programme expected by many had to be adjusted to the challenges of the time. We regret that due to restrictions in regard to crossing the borders, foreign participants will not be able to come to Minsk for X Forum “TEART”. But we are confident that there will be a great time and resources for implementation of these projects. This year we have transformed the concept of the international programme: it will represent itself video recordings of dramatic, opera and choreographic performances. Among them – performances from the festivals in Avignon, Edinburgh, Berlin Theatertreffen, the project “Festival “Golden Mask”. Video screenings of the best Russian performances”. After some of the screenings, viewers will have a possibility to participate in Q&A with the production team. The performances of the international programme “TEART” will take place at the venue OK16.
The Forum also acts as a platform for creative dialogue and expanding one’s ideas about theatrical art. Industry professionals will traditionally participate in the educational project “School of TEART”. The School’s programme includes presenting sketches of performances, a lecture and a series of seminars. “School of TEART” acts as a platform for a professional start in the field of theatre, regardless of the specific direction. Educational events invite a wide range of listeners, and what is important for the audience is not so much the depth of knowledge about the theatre, but sincere interest and love for this art form.
We are also pleased to announce that we are bringing back to life the venue OK16 and we will continue to present performances on this venue. We believe that together we can revive this place. Therefore, we invite cultural initiatives to work on important projects on this venue.
“X Anniversary Forum will be different. Now is the time when mobility and ability to react to circumstances are a priority. Today the festival offers other forms of interaction with art. We have always said that TEART strives for interdisciplinarity and display of different types of arts. We believe that in a year we will meet again, and it will be another “TEART”, corresponding to the new time” – emphasizes the Director of the Forum Angelika Krasheuskaya.
