“Blade Runner” is one of the most discussed films of the 20th century. Director Ridley Scott created this film after the film “Alien”, which is also considered to be an uncompromising classic. “Blade Runner” has become a gold standard for the science fiction genre and has firmly asserted itself as an iconic movie. The film is based on the novel by Philip K. Dick “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” Since the 1980s, this film has continued to impress viewers with a unique storyline full of mysteries and symbols.
Los Angeles of the future, 2019. Society is divided into people and replicants – androids, outwardly indistinguishable from humans, but in a slave position and living for only a few years. On Earth, they are illegal and are used in heavy labor in space colonies. Rick Deckard is a retired detective specializing in the destruction of androids who break the law. People like him are called “blade runners.” Deckard returns to his work and receives the task to kill a group of escaped replicants of a new generation, rebelling against their creator and seeking to extend their lifespan. The assignment will forever change Rick’s life.

Harrison Ford and Rutger Hauer are playing the title roles, the most famous actors of the Hollywood era. The role of Deckard became one of the brightest in the career of Harrison Ford, and the final monologue of Rutger Hauer will forever be remembered by the audience.
The film became famous in many ways due to its distribution fate. The first screenings caused confrontation of opinions among critics: some scolded the vague plot, which seems to be outshone by special effects, while others, on the contrary, extolled the multi-layered storytelling and atmosphere. Nonetheless, “Blade Runner” has won many awards for cinematography and design, and is loved by the public. After a while, it became clear that the film significantly influenced popular culture, set the canon of cyberpunk and took its seat besides Kubrick’s “Space Odyssey” and Lang’s “Metropolis”. The avant-garde music of the Greek composer Vangelis became the soundtrack for the film and was nominated for the Golden Globe Award.

In Minsk the film will be shown in the final cut version, which is considered to be a gold standard. It was created in 2007 and includes new special effects and scenes that completely change the perception of the film and shed light on its main question: is Deckard himself a human or a replicant?
The organizer of the film distribution is Visual and Performing Arts Centre “ART Corporation”.
