In July, the TheatreHD project prepared special screenings for art lovers. Connoisseurs of ballet are invited to watch the ballets “Le Parc” and “Notre-Dame de Paris”, and fans of the opera will see the performances of the Vienna Opera – “Lucia di Lammermoor”, “Tosca” and “GIOVANNA D’ARCO” staged at the Teatro alla Scala.

On July 3, on VOKA CINEMA by Silver Screen, watch “Notre-Dame de Paris” directed by Roland Petit. In 1965, the French choreographer chose this subject for his first full-length ballet at the Paris National Opera, and since then “Notre-Dame de Paris” has been one of the claims to fame of the renowned French company. On July 11, you can also see the majestic “Notre-Dame de Paris”, which inspired the great Yves Saint Laurent to create costumes for the performance, on the screen at the Falcon Club Cinema Boutique.

On July 4, we are watching the ballet “Le Parc” by the choreographer Angelin Preljocaj for the Paris National Opera – an amazing mix of the Gallant Age and modern sense of rhythm. Minsk residents will remember Preljocaj’s ballet “Fresco. Painting on the Wall ”, which was shown at TEART festival in 2017. In the new production, almost the main character of the play is the palace park – a place of fantasies and secret dates, a place where it is so easy to admit defeat. And his four gardeners – a connecting link of eras, mystical keepers of time and secrets, slightly open the veil of secrecy for us – the eternal mystery of the origin of love. The only screening will take place at the cinema “Tsentralnyi”.

The screenings of the Vienna Opera will begin in Minsk on 14 July. On this day, the famous “Tosca” will be shown at the cinema “Tsentralnyi”. An impressive gallery of historical performances and high-profile names was reinforced with the interpretation of Anna Netrebko, who brilliantly performed the part of Tosca in this performance. Tenor Yusif Eyvazov performed the role of Cavaradossi, bass-baritone Wolfgang Koch played the role of the insidious Chief of Police Scarpia, and the Vienna Opera Orchestra conducted by French conductor Bertrand de Biya perfectly conveyed all the colors and nuances of Puccini’s most famous score.

On July 17, VOKA CINEMA by Silver Screen will once again hear Anna Netrebko – this time as Jeanne d’Arc staged by the Italian La Scala under the direction of Verdi’s best conductor Ricardo Chailly. He defined this performance as “an exploration of the relationship between father and daughter, as in many other operas by Verdi”. Anna Netrebko’s interpretation received great reviews from critics, and her tandem with Francesco Meli was called ideal.

On July 21, the TheatreHD project invites you to enjoy another opera of the Vienna Opera. The tragic drama “Lucia di Lammermoor” by Gaetano Donizetti based on the novel by Walter Scott tells the story of a Scottish girl who was forced to get married while her lover was away, and she, in a fit of madness, kills her unloved husband – accompanying these actions with one of the most famous arias for sopranos in the world opera repertoire. The production presents a truly stellar ensemble of vocalists – the phenomenal Olga Peretyatko and bel canto superstar Juan Diego Flores.

Screenings within the framework of the TheatreHD project are organized by ART Corporation. We advise you to take precautions and make your movie visit not only enjoyable but also safe: please wear masks and use other protective means.
