Giovanni, the respectable head of the analytical center, returns to Rome from a business trip and is horrified to find out that his only and beloved 13-year-old daughter Agnese meets Alessio, a teenager from a poor suburb. To convince young people that they are not a couple, he will have to gain the support of Monica – the mother of Alessio, a woman with an explosive character and her own ideas about social justice.

The world premiere took place in December 2017. The comedy became the highest grossing film in Italy, took part in 87 European and world film festivals in one year. Welcome to Rome also received  prestigious awards: the Italian Golden Globe in the nomination Best Actress, the main Italian film award Silver Ribbon in three categories (Best Comedy, Best Comedy Actor and Actress).

The film was created by recognized meters of Italian comedy. The director was the winner of the Italian Oscar, the David di Donatello Prize, Riccardo Milani (Piano, solo; Welcome Mr. President!).

The performer of the role of Monica – Paola Cortellesi, one of the best comedy actresses in Italy (Men against women, Women against men, Decameron), will again meet on screen with no less famous Antonio Albanese (To Rome with Love, Manuale d’amore, Questione di cuore). The audience will remember their duet from the family comedy Mom or Dad?, which became a hit in Italy.

To Rome with Love is not just a comedy performed in the best Italian traditions. The film makes you think about in what world of stereotypes and conventions we live today and how we ourselves build walls of misunderstanding in society.

“So daring, so touching, even gentle comedy about love. It will appeal to men and women, adults and children,” movieplayer.it writes. Сomingsoon.it emphasizes: “This is a great comedy in the best traditions of such geniuses of the new cinema as Paolo Virdzi and classics like Mario Monicelli.”
