The Munich National Theatre and the Brussels Opera House La Monnaie / De Munt end the autumn with video broadcasts. The operas of Andreas Kriegenburg and Romeo Castellucci will be available to everyone on November 23 and 25.

On Saturday, November 23, you have an opportunity to see Alban Berg’s expressionist opera. The first screenings of Wozzeck took place on the stage of the Bavarian State Opera back in 2008, and tomorrow anyone can see the production of Andreas Kriegensburg on the website of the Munich National Theatre. Faces of drowned people, voodoo dolls and a head-walking drum major – as Jens F. Laurson said in his review for Opera Today, “If any Wozzeck production can convince the hesitating masses to listen to this difficult 20th century masterpiece, it would have to be this one.” The broadcast starts at 8 p.m.

On Monday, November 25, Arthur Honegger opera oratorio will be available for viewing in the interpretation of Romeo Castellucci, who is already familiar to Belarusians from the “School of TEART” of 2016 and the series of lectures by Dmitry Renansky. Joan of Arc at the stake, which became the central event of the Golden Mask this year, will be shown on the official website of the Brussels Opera House La Monnaie / De Munt. Despite the fact that the production moved to Belgium and now its conducted by Kazushi Ono not Currentzis, Audrey Bonnet will still be in the lead role. The video will be available for viewing until January 20.
